New Starter Information
Starting Pre-school is an important stage in your child’s life, which can be exciting and a little daunting for parents. At Swanwick Pre-school we aim to make this as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. We are here to answer any questions, you may have.
Our Pre-school brochure gives you the opportunity to see how Pre-school operates, the routines the children have, and how the charity is run.
Uniform
Our children are proud to wear their uniform, however, this is not compulsory. If you wish to order uniform please email treasurer.swanwickpreschool@gmail.com
Snacks
A healthy snack and a drink of milk or water is provided for your child at snack time. At Swanwick Pre-School we promote Healthy oral hygiene with our children. If you would like to know more about oral hygiene, please see the link from public health Delivering Better Oral Health.
Toilet Training
It would be great if your child were able to go to the toilet unaided. However, if your child is still in nappies, could they please wear pull ups as they are easier for us to change. It is also a good idea for the children to wear simple clothing which they can handle themselves e.g. trousers with elastic waistbands rather than fiddly buttons etc.
We ask that a change of clothing is supplied for your child whilst toilet training. If you require any assistance with toilet training this information from Derbyshire county council is very useful.
Registration
Just before your child is due to start pre-school you will receive a pack of paperwork, this is to help us register your child, let us know about any health concerns and help your child’s key person get to know them and settle them in their first few weeks.
