What ages do you accept at Swanwick Pre-School?

2 ½ – 5 or when they go to school.

When can my child stay for a full day?

Children can stay for a full day, including a lunch session, from the term in which they are 3

What are your opening hours and term dates?

Breakfast club from 7:40am

Early drop off from 8.15am

Morning sessions 9.00am-12.00pm

Lunch session for children staying all day 12.00pm-12.40pm

Afternoon sessions 12.40pm-3.40pm

Is parking available?

Theres no parking on site, we encourage families to walk where possible or use near by on street parking

How do I register my child or arrange a visit?

Do you offer wrap around care? 

We offer a breakfast club at Pre-School with drop off from 7:40am (with breakfast) or 8.15am (without breakfast), and we work closely with Swanwick Kids Club who collect children over 3 years old for an after-School club until 6pm at an extra cost.

What does a typical day look like?

Freeplay, music and movement, storytime, snack time, singing
and outdoor play.

What happens if my child needs extra help with speech, behaviour, or learning?

Talk to your child’s keyperson in the first instance.  We have a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) on site.

Are staff trained in first aid?

All staff are first aid trained

What should my child bring each day?

No need to bring anything unless:

• Staying for a packed lunch
• Change of clothes if potty training
• Nappies if not toilet trained

Do you provide snacks or meals?

Yes, healthy snacks are provided during morning and afternoon sessions. If your child is staying for a lunch session they will need to bring a healthy packed lunch and drink.

What are your fees?

If funding does not cover your requirements, fees are £23.28 for 3 hourly sessions and any additional hours outside the sessions are charged at £7.76 per hour

Do you accept government-funded childcare hours?

Yes, you can use your government funded 15 or 30 hours childcare hours with us.

Any extra hours can be paid for if required.

Am I eligible for government funding?

Can I use my government funding for breakfast club and lunch sessions

Yes, you can use government funding for lunch and breakfast sessions.

Are there any additional costs?

• Uniform is optional and if you would like your child to wear it there is a small cost.
  • 40am Breakfast Club £1.50 per day.
  • Any hours above government funded hour eligibility may be paid for.

How do I pay fees?

Fees are paid on a monthly basis. We work out the cost of the fees over a year and divide by 11 months. This way you pay the same amount each month, with a break in August.

What if my child feels anxious or upset?

Keyworkers are there to help and build relationships.

How will I receive updates about my child’s progress?

• Daily on pickup
• 2 Year Progress Check/Initial Assessment
• Parent’s evening.

How can I speak to staff if I have concerns?

Staff are always on hand to speak to, either upon drop off or collection or please email or phone to arrange an appointment.

Can I visit before enrolling?

Yes. All children are required to visit before starting either on an Open Day or by appointment.
